Affiliate disclosure

Last updated:

CanadaCasinoTop earns money, and readers are entitled to know how. This page explains where our income comes from, where it shows up on the site and where the line sits between what an operator pays for and what our editors decide. Read it together with our terms of use, our disclaimer and the how we rate casinos page.

Who pays us

Most online casinos listed on CanadaCasinoTop run affiliate programmes. When a reader follows one of our links, opens an account and makes a deposit, the operator may pay us a commission — a one-off fee for each new player, a share of the revenue the operator earns from that player, or a combination of both. The terms are agreed with each operator or with the network that represents it. This income pays for testing casinos, keeping the tables up to date and running the site. We do not charge readers and we do not sell subscriptions.

What it costs you

Nothing. Signing up through our link does not raise a deposit, shrink a bonus or change the wagering. Unless a page states that an offer is exclusive to our readers, the welcome package is the same one you would see by going to the casino directly.

Which links are paid

Links that can earn us a commission are the buttons and logos in our ranking tables, the “visit” and “play” buttons in reviews and bonus pages, and any link whose address begins with canadacasinotop.com/go/. These short /go/ addresses forward you to the operator and record that the visit came from us. Links to regulators, to ConnexOntario, to testing labs, to news sources and to our own guides are ordinary links: nobody pays us for them.

Cookies set by our links

Every page of canadacasinotop.com sets two cookies as soon as it loads: mz_vid, a random visitor ID kept for one year, and mz_src, which notes where the visit came from, kept for 30 days. When you follow a /go/ link, our server adds two more: mozbiz_session and XSRF-TOKEN, a session cookie and a security token that expire after 20 hours. The operator receives the random ID so it can credit the referral to us. Full details are in our privacy policy.

Partners in our rankings

Most operators in our tables are commercial partners — that is how an affiliate site works, and we would rather say so than hide it. A partnership lets us list a casino with a working link; it does not decide where the casino appears. Positions follow the checks on our rating page: provincial status, Interac and Canadian-dollar banking, payout speed, bonus terms, games and support. An operator cannot buy the top spot, a higher score or a softer review, and a partner whose terms stop matching what players actually get can move down or be removed. If a placement is ever sold as advertising, it will be labelled as advertising on the page.

Your part

A commission link takes you to someone else’s website. Before you deposit, read the operator’s terms, check that it accepts players from your province, and confirm the bonus conditions on the casino itself — they may have changed since we last checked. Gambling is for adults: 19+ in most of Canada, 18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec.

Changes

If the way we earn money changes, this page changes with it. The date at the top shows the current version.
